Acres of Diamonds

Here is an excellent& much-needed title for high school youth. Acres of Diamonds is a spiritual book. It is not similar to the get-rich-quick books that abound. The author saw that success is a spiritual idea& that when we succeed in a noble effort, we can bless mankind more than if we are poor. Russell H. Conwell was a minister& the founder of Temple University. His lecture Acres of Diamonds was delivered personally over 6, 000 times& earned over $4, 000, 000. (About $145, 000, 000 in current dollars.) With this he financed the college education of many poor& worthy high school graduates, never forgetting what a hard time he had in putting himself through college. Conwell lived a selfless life, & died in harness at age 82. He lived many lives in one, because he literally worked sixteen hours a day, seven days a week. he believed that each of us is placed here on Earth for one main purpose--to help others. He inspired thousands of people& two generations of Americans, many of whom became successes& helped America grow great-- all through the simple but profound concept found in'Acres of diamonds-- all good things are possible-- right where you are--& now! This new (Fall'93) edition is the only complete text edition. Up to now, only a booklet containing the lecture was available. It has a new cover, new biographical material, new foreword, etc. It appears 68 years after Conwell's passing to inspire a new generation. The truths& principles in this book are as valid today as when the great humanitarian lived. There are many opportunities for success today as in Conwell's age, if not more so, because they are found first and foremost in one's own consciousness.
